  1. Before Installing Keys Off 1.2

  3. This document contains information that you should read before installing Keys Off 1.2 for the first time.

  5. Special Note For Users Upgrading From Previous Versions

The Keys Off 1.2 installer will replace any existing Keys Off Prefs file. This step is necessary to support the new encrypted passwords offered in this version. Do not use a Keys Off Prefs file from an earlier version (either 1.1 or any of the 1.2 betas) or you may have difficulty disabling Keys Off.

Please note that replacing the Keys Off Prefs file will erase your existing Keys Off settings. Your Deactivation Password will be reset to the letter 'a' (without quotes), and you will have to reenter your Keys Off registration code (if you have lost your code, please contact Blue Globe Software).

  14. The default Keys Off password after installation is the letter 'a' (without the quotes). Please change this password as soon as opportunity permits. A single-letter password is very easy to guess.
